Artists, Karen Audette and Diane Gilson have been friends for over twenty
years. Six years ago they tried an experiment of painting on the same canvas;
each contributing parts to the whole painting. What began as an exercise to
inspire creativity has since grown into a tradition.Every week Audette and Gilson get together and paint in tandem, each working
on sections of a painting and then trading canvases. The surface is sometimes
gridded and each artist paints alternate squares. The finished artwork is a mosaic
of color, contrast and styles creating a fresh interpretation of masterpieces and
original compositions.
